6. Specific goals for the course
- specific outcomes of instruction (e.g. The student will be able to explain the significance of current research about a particular topic.)
- CLO1 Describe the role work measurement in the work place, conduct a methods-engineering study of a particular job, including methods analysis, time studies.
- CLO2 Acquire and statistically analyze work place data.
- CLO3 Apply predetermined time systems to solve workplace problems and Conduct a direct time study including performance ratings and allowances, standard data systems, and work sampling
- CLO4 Understand work study concepts and tools: Operation Process Chart, Flow Process Chart, Flow Diagram, Two Handed Process Chart, Gang Process Chart
- CLO5 Apply problem solving process to improve and design work systems.
- CLO6 Understand how to calculate the number of operators controlling machines
- explicitly indicate which of the student outcomes listed in Criterion 3 or any other outcomes are addressed by the course.
ABET Student Outcome (SO) Listed in Criterion 3 Performance indicator SO2 an ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors. - PI-2.1 Formulate the problem (identify the “need”) and analyze constraints
- PI-2.2 Establish “fitness” criteria for evaluating potential solutions and tradeoffs
- PI-2.3 Generate alternative solutions (If multiple solutions exist) or sensitivity analysis to solution
- PI-2.4 Build a solution (or solutions) and analyze performance, ensuring that the solutions meet the specified needs with explicit consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors.
