6. Specific goals for the course
- specific outcomes of instruction (e.g. The student will be able to explain the significance of current research about a particular topic.)
- CLO1 Students understand the concept of input and output devices of computers and how it works and recognize the basic terminology used in computer programming.
- CLO2 Students can demonstrate basic knowledge and understanding the concept of algorithms, algorithmic thinking and fundamentals of computer programming.
- CLO3 Students understand database usage with computer programs.
- CLO4 Students gain a board perspective about the uses of computers in engineering industry.
- CLO5 Students can draw flowcharts and implement the algorithms (using programming language e.g. C, Python, MATLAB) for solving Mathematical and Engineering problems.
- explicitly indicate which of the student outcomes listed in Criterion 3 or any other outcomes are addressed by the course.
ABET Student Outcome (SO) Listed in Criterion 3 Performance indicator SO1 an ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics. - PI-11 Formulate the problem and identify key issues/variables
- PI-12 Recognize the need for multiple solutions
- PI-13 Analyze alternative solutions to an engineering problem
- PI-14 Justify a solution to an engineering problem
SO3 an ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences. - PI-31 Organize the material
- PI-32 Present content in own words to demonstrate comprehension
- PI-33 Provide data to support claims or inform audience
- PI-34 Demonstrate proper use of English
- PI-35 Deliver an oral presentation
SO6 an ability to develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions. - PI-61 Design an Experiment Plan (How to answer the Driving Question?)
- PI-62 Acquire data on appropriate variables
- PI-63 Interpret experimental data and results with respect to appropriate theoretical models
- PI-64 Explain observed differences between model and experiment (bad model, bad measurements, noise, etc.) and draw conclusions
