Definition and units; principles of components used in electric circuit; Characteristics of resistors, capacitors and inductor; electric circuit theorems; Ohm’s law; Kirchhoff’s laws; circuit analysis techniques, node and mesh analysis, source transformations, linearity and superposition; Thévenin and Norton’s theorems; transient analysis in 1st order and 2nd order circuits; sinusoidal function; Alternating Current (AC) circuit analysis; phasor concepts for circuit analysis, sinusoidal steady-state response; AC power analysis; poly phase circuits; three phase systems; power measurement in three phase systems. - prerequisites or co-requisites

- CLO2 The student will be able to understand advanced mathematical methods, such as linear algebra, differential equations, and complex numbers, to be able to solve circuit problems.
- CLO3 The student will be able to use the techniques of node and mesh analysis and develop them to analyze the circuits using sophisticated techniques such as superposition, Thévenin’s and Norton's theorems, power maximum transferred, etc.
